July 1st - "The winds and the waves are always on the side of the ablest navigators" - Edward Gibbon

July 1st, 2018 - The wind was crazy!!!! Sustained at 20+mph pretty much from when we got on the water at 4:00 pm till we left at dark. Didn't stop us from hooking into lots of fish tonight, just had a case of releasing a little too early... some real dandy's tonight, but they never saw the net, just the side of the boat. I want to thank Brian, Jeff and Scott for coming out tonight on my first night officially open for business. Surface temp of the water was steady around 80 degrees, Winds were high, air temp when we started was 83, but we came off the water at a cool 66. Storm front had moved through with actual tornado warnings to the north and east of us, and we battled that front as it moved through all night. Started out on the fly with Scott throwing a Musky deceiver and Brian and Jeff on nymphs but the wind made the choice for us after about a half hour of fighting it to go with heavier traditional tackle. Had an absolute blast and thanks for hooking into that anchor line Jeff, great new addition to the boat!!!
